Alexandros Moundreas was born on June 5, 1955 in Egaleo (Athens) in Greece. At a young age he moves to Piraeus, where he studies at the Maritime School until 1976. Initially he works at various maritime offices (shipping companies). In 1981 he opens his own music store in Piraeus, which he runs until 1988.
In the meantime, full of passion, he continuously writes poems, which are published in 6 volumes from 1986 onwards: "Análafres Evesthisíes" ("Light sensitivities") (1986), "Nekrikí Palmí" ("Dead vibrations") (1987), "Idiomatismí" ("Idiom") (1988), "Zodanés Figoúres" ("Living figures") (1988), "Ta pediká mou chrónia" ("My childhood”) (1990) and “Rízes” (“Roots”) (1997). Some of these poems have been translated into English, Italian, French, German and Dutch. In October 1997 he was published in the newspaper "O ANTAPOKRITIS" (The Correspondent) and from October 1998 he has a regular sports page "Peiraiko Athlorama" (Piraeus Sports) in the weekly newspaper "Peiraïki Politeia" (Piraeus State).
On February 3, 1999 he completes his advanced education in Journalism for authors and reporters at the Private I.E.K., Athenian Institute of Journalism and Communication in Athens, Greece. Shortly after the education he publishes his own weekly newspaper called Athlitikos Peireas tis Tritis (Athletic Piraeus on Tuesday). Alexandros Moundreas has also lived in Venice and Paris. Since 2006 he lives with his Dutch wife Marina in her hometown 's-Hertogenbosch, where he is an avid FC Den Bosch supporter from the start. As of 2015, he regularly publishes columns on his own website https://alexandrosmoundreas.weebly.com/. In 2016 and 2017 he also writes articles for Blue Life Magazine and the FC Den Bosch door-to-door magazine. In November 2016 he publishes his book: "With such supporters you don't have to be afraid", about 35 supporters and 5 club icons of FC Den Bosch. A book with anecdotes, sayings, interviews and contributions. The book is now a collector's item. In August 2018, Alexandros starts a series of interviews with Greek (former) footballers and supporters of his big soccer love Ethnnikos, a football club in Piraeus, Greece. This is so succesful, that he starts the same month with a series of interviews in Dutch with (former) footballers and supporters of his second big soccer love FC Den Bosch. The enthusiasm of supporters is great and it even gets so far that one morning at 8am a supporter comes to his house unannounced, and shouts through the letterbox: "Alexandros! Alexandros! I want an interview!". Alexandros is currently working on his second book titled: "With such supporters you don't have to be afraid 2", in which, among other things, the interviews with FC Den Bosch supporters and (former) football players are bundled. After the publication of this book, his plans include the publication of a book with the same title and for his first great football love, Ethnikos Piraeus, which includes interviews with mainly former football players, but also with the supporters. |
